Are you one of the many students with a free period? Are you slightly behind on credits, or just bored sitting around at school? Consider aiding in the Library. It is tons of fun, and they need more help. Some of it is confusing at first, but the more you do, the better you get. If the Library is not of interest to you, try aiding in a class you like. You can ask teachers, or go see your counselor.
It is often cool to aide for a teacher you used to have, or aide for a teacher you have now. Think of a subject you like the most, and go ask a teacher in that department if the free period you have works into their schedule. Aiding is a great way to pass the time and get credits; especially if you have a free period in between your other classes and are forced to stay at school and do nothing. Just think about it, it could be a great experience for you, and aiding is a great thing to share with colleges and on job applications. The Library, especially, is great work experience, and it could help you get a job at the Cabrillo Library, or any other library.
Another thing you could do; most likely it would only work if you get out early; but you could head over to the SPCA, or any other place close, and volunteer. Volunteering on a regular basis is a great way to get your community service hours, and also, is a great thing to add onto college and job applications. Go out and do more; the experiences benefit and add to your future.
Try out different things, there are many choices, and they all await you!
